Alchemy Elements Review - Topfin Aquarium DecorationsBy Artenen AeolusAs we get into more realistic props for games I wanted to do a blog about the realistic Topfin glass stones. Let me know if you have any questions or other materials that would work great for props like this! To read up on our professions and all the unique abilities they offer, check out Chapter 5 of the Myths & Legends rulebook here.
It has been a great couple of years building LarpCraft and now we have hit a milestone of 1,025 member profiles as of today. With this news, we teamed up with Live Action Products to release the all new giveaway worth over $100.How LarpCraft Started -Oden and Artenen were watching Role Models the movie one day and decided to put together a whole bunch of foam weapons. We then went out to the local park and began swinging at eachother. We were not able to find another group here in Wisconsin that was close to our city (not that we could find anyway) so we built the first version of www.wilarp.com and gave ourselves a name. This was back in the end of 2010. After some practices and such we decided to start writing up some guidelines and began thinking about how to make something like a MMORPG but where you did it Larp style with tools via the website to track it all. We didn't see that this was easily available in any other system so we brought in Skylab to see if he had any suggestions. At about this time a player by the name of Bucky contacted us and asked when our next event was. Oden and Artenen simply would bust out the swords at parties and whenever so we really didn't have anything formal yet as we were brainstorming the ruleset. We decided to just have practices as we could in a local park so Bucky and others began to come to these sessions.During the 2011 year Artenen poured in some bucks to make the site and Skylab poured in huge amounts of time to make the wilarp.com site better and trackable. After failing many times and after countless hours of crashes, format issues, bandwidth issues and pretty much everything you could think of, we had a system that would work. At this time we began to host weekly games on Sundays for free every week (and I do mean every week). We modeled our games around questing and battle but we had few costumes and weapons though everyone was always asking for them.Artenen then decided to set this up as a business called Progressive Live Action Role Players and registered the prolarp.com domain. He did this for 2 reasons. First, so we could get a checking and business account set. 2nd so we could tell people where to find our info on stuff since wilarp was only a local club. Then we got the sales license and such so we could sell our own stuff at games (since we really didn't want to make it all). After a while another site was made for the online store. This was called battlestuff. The online store served to make sure we had the right props and costumes to keep growing our games while at the same time giving reviews on stuff we sold to help players decide on how to shop for stuff. It was the swell of videos that eventually brought...
We started formulating how we will be writing our Medieval Combat Training videos...This is an exciting adventure! Instruction will come from a professional European combat trainer.
Roleplay of LarpCraftBy Artenen Aeolus - LarpCraft OverlordThese last few weeks have been really exciting... we are almost up to 1,000 profiles on the Myths & Legends Medieval Larp system. Our video views are picking up steam and we are chugging ahead full steam ahead in helping folks make their own games all over the world (we just had our first request for a realm in Iceland even!). Story-line is the backbone of characters in LarpCraftWhile is is fantastic, at LarpCraft we aim to do more. We want to have options to bring gamers and characters together more often to create a stronger bond. We are currently building stories for the fantasy world, groups are coming up with awesome adventures and lore and we are even testing a forum based and tabletop net style realms so those who want to play but do not have a realm can grow their characters (lower experience than real games however). Some games are so epic, words and pictures can't even begin to describe how fun they areWe tried doing something larpcraft like in minecraft and chivalry games over the last few years and while the roleplay was epic, players could not use their larpcraft skills 100% so we gave up on those platforms and began testing forum based roleplay via our www.Harloria.com realm. The trails were a big hit and so we put an action plan into place. Elders who host real games will also be able to apply to become Harloria Elders and host wildly fun forum based games. These games will allow characters to gain XP, coin, titles and they can even die (for good) so it comes with risk. BUT these games will have awesome maps, stories, lore for character use and lower entries over a physical larp. While the XP is not as high for forum games, it allows people to use the LarpCraft system between or before real games. Crafting, questing and immersion is the name of the game. In LarpCraft you do not have to battle or fight. The Next StepWe thought... huh why not bring in a tabletop version of the game as well? That's right folks, we are testing a tabletop version of our system too so our "rollplay" roleplayers can also enjoy adventures between or before real games. Both of these alternate systems will prove to be valuable for gamers who are always looking for ways to build experience, levels, lore and wealth. Light, Medium and Full garbed players all having fun togetherThe other systems - LarpCraft continues to build systems for all types of larp. We are about half done with our Risen zombie system, getting a feel for the direction of our Sci-fi system (do we go more Star Trek or Star Wars theme), Our Genesis Steampunk system is coming along nicely and we even have a Wild West program being developed. You see, LarpCraft helps build games using our tracking, insurance and simple, low-hitpoint building block approach.Working together to build great characters and gamesThe backbone of LarpCraft Our passion is to...
