LarpCraft officially began in 2010. We were a bunch of LARPers that wanted to take LARP in a direction that few had seemed to be able to. Our research indicated that you had 2 types of Renaissance Fantasy LARP. 1. Lots of hit points, complex rules and LOTS of politics. 2. Simple "Bash" gameplay with little to no point system. While #2 was easier to get into, these groups tend to fade or burn out faster. #1 types have a more dedicated following but again, it is hard for these groups to sometimes gain the player count needed for successful games.
LarpCraft wanted to blend these 2 game types so that you have immerse gameplay with simple hit counts. While the basic game can be picked up in mere minutes, the complexity of our system comes with level advancement. Please take a look at our rule book and see all the neat abilities we have to offer. While magic is in the game, it is limited but powerful. Players can cast anything they have mats for without cool down but the amount of spells one can carry is limited to keep things fair.
We offer a great range of Races and Classes so you can develop complex characters and stories for those characters. Unlike many other LARP groups we feel that it is best to have players respawn in game instead of being killed forever. This type of play is based on MMORPGs and allows players the freedom to build characters for years. Simply put a character doesn't die unless the player chooses to end a characters life forever.
We have a great global point system in place as well and found many do not have this type of system. We wanted to have a way to easily connect players and promoters for free even if they don't play our LCR playbook. Simply put, LarpCraft is for all LARPers.
